Dr. Jennifer Joyce is an educator, mentor, and academic leader whose work centers on inclusive advising, reflective practice, and the transformative potential of early college experiences. Currently serving as Dean of the First-Year Class at Smith College, she draws on two decades of experience guiding learners through pivotal academic transitions. Prior to Smith, she spent over 15 years at Villanova University, where she taught literature, led global internships, and shaped first-year programming that blended cultural inquiry with personal growth.

At Woodland Pacific, Jenny brings a deep commitment to first-year success and the kinds of structured, caring environments that help learners feel seen and supported from the start. Her advising philosophy emphasizes belonging, narrative development, and resilience—values that align closely with Woodland Pacific’s strengths-based approach. With a scholarly background in American and Irish literature and a long history of faculty mentorship, Jenny helps guide programming that honors identity and fosters meaningful connection across difference.
